Brimming Life

This blog is for those who wish to explore the deeper aspects of life and not merely be carried away by the swirl of what goes on in society. If you like adventures, this zone can keep you on the move.

The Journey into Oneself

A Joyous Adventure

We are all on a sacred journey of life. Appreciation of its beauty becomes a natural consequence to the dive towards the Deeper Self in us. This blog deals with both the esoteric and practical aspects of our venerable journey. It comes up with pensive pointers for reflection and self-awareness.
Human beings are externalized – hooked on to the outer aspects of life such as material possessions, fame, identification with a nation, religion or the like, and so on. This is creating a lot of unhappiness to the individual and, therefore, to humanity as a whole. Those who realize this begin to turn inward and indulge in ‘Athma Vichara’ – the Soul Search. In this zone, we become wayside companions helping each other enjoy the landscape of life - its beauty of sun rise and set, moon's travel amidst the clouds, the sandy beach and the endless surf and sea.
The noisy mind and its obstruction to the inner dive can be explored. Movement towards the inner silence is the essential feature in this journey. In the process of this movement, a pervasive background serenity is discovered. To lead one’s daily life from that serenity somehow makes it all very meaningful. Personal and planetary transformations can be looked into as also the deceptive pursuit of individual salvation.
While dealing with issues for serious reflection, we can go into a rather uncommon pointer - this pointer is: Frivolity and light-hearted attitudes play a healthy role in the movement towards the Deeper Self. Such legendary figures as Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan too will be consulted along this journey. Come along, we can enjoy the the outer and the inner life as it unfolds on this planet!

The Group Psychology

An important issue in life is being unaware of the slavery to Group Psychology.  If one identifies oneself with a group, religious or otherwise, the tendency to 'believe what one wants to believe' takes over and the conditioning process is set going.  Soon, it reaches such a hardened level that one not only becomes completely unaware of the slavery, but goes on to justify it as a salutary thing!  The essence of this slavery is the forgetfulness that group psychology is different from mob psychology only in degree, not in kind.  The moment one senses this truth, there is freedom from the slavery.  This does not mean that we should not listen to others, but that it is good to be aware of how the slavery takes over our minds. Such an awareness allows us to interact freely with people but makes sure that we don't fall a prey to the conditioning factor.  When this freedom from slavery to group psychology spreads amongst the people, there is a possibility of bringing about a happy and harmonious world with a united and compassionate mankind.
